OxCharge – Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the OxCharge mobile application and website oxcharge.com (together, the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Definitions

1.1 “App” or “OxCharge” — the OxCharge mobile application available on iOS and Android.

1.2 “Company” — OxCharge (or the relevant operating entity responsible for providing the digital platform and services).

1.3 “Device” — portable charging power banks available for rental through OxCharge.

1.4 “Partner” — a local operating entity supplying hardware, stations, logistics, and infrastructure to support OxCharge services in a specific country or region.

1.5 “Services” — the actions and processes enabling Users to locate, rent, use, and return a Device.

1.6 “Stations” — OxCharge docking stations used to dispense and return Devices.

1.7 “User” — an individual who has downloaded the App and created/logged into an account.

1.8 “Website” — the official OxCharge website at https://oxcharge.com providing information and support for the Service.

2. Personal Data & App Functionality

2.1 The App enables Users to locate Devices, rent them, make payments, and improve their usage experience.

2.2 These Terms do not regulate the rental contract itself. Device rental rules are provided separately by the Partner in your region.

2.3 The App allows Users to browse Stations, check availability, and initiate rentals at no cost.

2.4 By using the App, the User consents to OxCharge collecting, analyzing, and storing device and usage data. If this data qualifies as personal data, it is processed according to the OxCharge Privacy Policy.

2.5 The App is free to download from the Apple App Store (iOS) and Google Play Store (Android).

3. Using the App

3.1 The Service operates through the App, Devices, and Stations.

3.2 While the App is owned by OxCharge, Devices and Stations are typically operated by a Partner.

3.3 Registration

  • Required for using the App.

  • Registration methods are shown on the home screen.

3.3.1 Users must register with a phone number or supported authentication provider.

3.3.2 A verification code (OTP) is sent via SMS. Incorrect numbers or failed verification will prevent registration.

3.4 After registration, the User receives a unique internal ID used for authentication and legal/account actions.

3.5 To rent a Device, Users must add and verify valid payment details.

3.6 The App is for personal, non-commercial use.

3.7 Users are responsible for all activity under their account.

3.8 Users must not:

  • Modify, decompile, hack, or interfere with the App.

  • Use the App in ways that violate these Terms or applicable law.

3.9 The App may be used globally where OxCharge Services are officially available.

3.10 The App uses public-domain maps. OxCharge does not own the map rights.

3.11 OxCharge owns all intellectual property rights to the App. These Terms do not grant ownership or transfer IP rights to Users.

3.12 App Store Requirements

a) Distribution

  • iOS: App must be downloaded from the Apple App Store.

  • Android: App must be downloaded from Google Play.

b) Platform Terms

  • iOS Users accept Apple’s Standard EULA.

  • Android Users accept Google Play Terms.

  • Apple and Google act as third-party beneficiaries of these Terms.

c) Updates

  • Users must keep the App updated for proper functionality.

  • Minimum OS requirements may change (currently: iOS 13+ / Android 8+).

d) Disclaimers

  • Apple and Google are not responsible for App performance, warranty, support, or legal issues.

e) Reviews

  • Users may post reviews.

  • OxCharge may respond.

  • False, defamatory, or misleading reviews may lead to account action or legal consequences.

f) Intellectual Property

  • Store logos and trademarks belong to their respective owners.

  • Users must not bypass official distribution channels.

4. Tariffs & Payments

4.1 Tariffs are displayed in the App in local currency and may change at any time.
The tariff shown after scanning a Device QR code applies for the entire rental session.

4.2 Billing starts when the Device is removed from a Station and continues until it is returned and confirmed in the App.

4.3 Payments cover both Device rental and associated service facilitation.

4.4 A refundable deposit up to AED-equivalent of USD 10 may be required depending on regional tariffs.

4.4.1 Deposits are refunded unless there are outstanding charges.

4.4.2 If payment fails, outstanding amounts may be deducted from the deposit.

4.5 If a Device is returned damaged due to misuse (not normal wear), up to USD 100 may be charged.

4.6 Payment Processing

a) All payments are processed through authorized UAE-compliant providers.
b) Visa & MasterCard are accepted.
c) Prices include 5% VAT.
d) Refunds are issued through the original payment method.
e) OxCharge does not store complete card details.

4.7 Compliance

a) No services may be provided to OFAC-sanctioned countries.
b) UAE law governs all transactions.
c) Disputes fall under UAE jurisdiction.
d) Payment processes follow UAE Central Bank regulations.

4.8 Consumer Protection

a) Users receive digital receipts.
b) Prices displayed include VAT.
c) Users may submit complaints to OxCharge or regional authorities.
d) Consumer rights are protected under applicable UAE law.

5. Service Rules

5.1 Devices are available exclusively from OxCharge Stations shown in the App.

5.2 Renting a Device

  1. Open the App.

  2. Tap the QR-code scan icon.

  3. Scan the Station QR or enter the Station number.

  4. Confirm and tap “Correct” to unlock and release a Device.

5.3 Billing begins when the Device is released after pressing “Start / Get Charged.”

5.4 Users must inspect the Device within 5 minutes.
If a problem is found, return it immediately to avoid charges.

5.5 If the Device number does not match the App listing, contact support immediately.

5.6 Users may rent up to 2 Devices simultaneously.

5.7 Devices must be returned to an available OxCharge Station.

5.8 If a Station cannot accept returns (full, offline, blocked), Users must return the Device to another Station. Billing continues until return.

5.9 Contact support if any issue prevents proper return.

5.10 Returning a Device to non-OxCharge equipment is not valid and may result in continued charges or penalties.

6. Liability

6.1 The App is provided “as is” without warranties. OxCharge is not responsible for device compatibility issues, installation problems, or third-party interference.

6.2 OxCharge’s maximum liability per User is limited to USD 100.

6.3 The Company is not liable for indirect losses or lost profits, except where required by law.

6.4 Users are fully responsible for any consequences of sharing Devices with third parties.

6.5 Physical damage caused by misuse may result in additional fines and the damage fee.

6.6 Illness, travel, or other circumstances do not exempt Users from paying for ongoing rental time.
However, OxCharge may review documented cases at its discretion.

7. Final Provisions

7.1 These Terms apply until the User deletes their account and notifies OxCharge of termination.

7.2 OxCharge may update these Terms at any time. Users will be notified via email or in-app notice. Continued use constitutes acceptance of updated Terms.
